An update about me.

Being bored, I decided to read some of my earlier entries. Some of them are just plain weird. Others, I made cryptic… Cryptic to the point that I don’t even understand what I was writing about. I think my recent posts have been pretty sanitized of any emotions. I’ve received quite a few responses to my Treo review and to my Michael Hong posting. Who knew that there were so many Michael Hongs? However, one thing that I used to write about a lot that I’ve forsaken as of late is food. How could I forget about food?! So, in the coming weeks, expect more posts and pictures of food.

Based on the comments I’ve received over the past week or so, it seems the majority of Michael Hongs are Korean. (I’m Korean, too) If you’re a Chinese Michael Hong, post now or the Korean Michael Hongs own the world. It also seems that everyone that owns a Treo 650 has run into crashes/resets for one reason or another (And by everyone, I mean the people that have posted responses to my Treo 650 review). It also seems that people want you to play online poker and buy viagra. But don’t worry, I got rid of those comments.

Back to the title of this post: Saw Maroon 5 with The Thrills today. Great show. Classes are ending shortly. And I want to go to the Cheesecake Factory just to eat their brown bread. See, I’m posting about food already. Old Michael Hong is back. All that I need now is a cryptic post. Or is it…

If you’ve come in search of pictures/videos from tonight (all 3 of you), I’m having problems with my camera… So, keep checking and hopefully I’ll have them up by tomorrow (Tuesday). Sorrry.. But, great show, no?! :D

Michael Hong x 10

I was taking a facebook break earlier today and decided to search for any other Michael Hongs. I expected to find maybe one or two other Michael Hongs, but lo and behold, 10 results popped up. Ten! Though it seems we all share ruggedly good-looking features. I’m glad the Michael Hong name has an association with quality no matter where you are. So, I’m gonna add them all to my facebook friends list, and hopefully I’ll have 8 new friends soon. (I’m 2 of the 10 Michael Hongs.)

Strange thing was, there’s a Michael Hong that attends University of Michigan (Go Wolverines blue!!). OK, maybe that’s not so strange. But what’s stranger is that there’s a white version of Jason Hahn that attends University of Michigan. Strangest thing would be if UMich version of Michael Hong and Jason Hahn were friends.

michael hong - umichjason hahn - umich

Michael Hong (left) and Jason Hahn(?) (right) - University of Michigan counterparts. Are they friends? Hopefully, this mystery will be solved soon.

Things like that make my brain hurt.

I hope my fellow Michael Hongs find my our? site! If you do, feel free to leave a comment and say hello! Alright, I think I’ve typed Michael Hong enough times in this post. Back to studying.

The Starting Line - Based on a True Story

tsl album art

The new Starting Line album, Based on a True Story is coming out soon. And it seems the first single is indeed Bedroom Talk. However, the single version sounds a lot better than the version that was in the Drive Thru Records Winter sampler. By better, I mean it sounds a lot more polished. It has a great beat throughout the entire song. As a result, it seems that there is a lot more structure in the song. The winter sampler version sounded a lot slower just because there wasn’t any good way to identify the beat during the first verse. The weird part where he keeps singing “I just don’t know, don’t know, don’t know” (1:52-2:02 Winter Sampler) has thankfully been shortened. The overall song length has been shortened to 4:07 from 4:16. And the part where the timing changes when Kenny sings “Big, big plans”, “Got to mean something more”, sounds really crisp. It actually sounds like it’s driving the song forward instead of in the Winter version, where it sounded like it would stall the momentum of the song. They cut out “You can stay like that for now” (3:00-3:03 Winter Sampler) before “I will always love you”. I actually enjoyed that part, but I guess they’re doing as much as they can to cut out the parts that seem to slow the song down too much. In essence, this is a no-nonsense version of the Winter Sampler version of Bedroom Talk. Not as free-flowing, more to the point. Which is quite unlike this entry, which has rambled on long enough. One last thing: apparently, people have also been dissing Kenny’s hair as of late in addition to the content of Bedroom Talk. But I’m guessing those are the young girls that enjoyed the image he portrayed with his bleached blonde hair. Kenny, I don’t care what color your hair is and/or how long it is. I’ve been a Starting Line fan for too long.

If you want to see Kenny’s long, dark hair for yourself, you can check out ‘boogi’s site.

The Starting Line’s new album, Based on a True Story, hits stores May 10.
