Hershey’s Miniatures

deliciousness
For some reason, I was talking to a buddy (name withheld for his protection) about Hershey’s miniatures today. You know, those black, red, and yellow colored wrapper that are Hershey’s Milk Chocolate, Mr. Goodbar, Krackel, and Special Dark. I suppose I haven’t looked hard enough, but I have not seen a regular sized Krackel or Mr. Goodbar in a while. Anyway, we both agreed that Special Dark is the best, hands down and would be picked out first of the bunch. However, I was shocked when he told me that Krackel is the one he would leave behind, even throw away. WHA?! I bet he hates Nestle Crunch and Shaq, too. (Actually, he does hate Shaq.)
Krackel was my #2 easily.

In fact, my miniature’s ranking goes something like this:
1. Special Dark
2. Krackel
3. Milk Chocolate
4. Mr. Goodbar

His silly claim? Mr. Goodbar > Krackel. I would trade 5 Mr. Goodbars for 1 Krackel anyday.
Help me show this misguided friend that Krackel is infinitely better than Mr. Goodbar. And don’t even tell me you hate Special Dark. I know that just isn’t possible.

Behind the times

Stubbs The Zombie: The SoundtrackI’m a sucker for covers of songs by bands I love. I usually find them and listen to them over and over and over again (See my iTunes playcount for Punk Goes 80s). That’s why I’m so confused how I never heard of Stubbs the Zombie until recently. Horror movie? Nope, video game. Recently, video games have turned out great soundtracks (a lot of the EA games and GTA to name a few.)

The difference with Stubbs is that the songs were recorded specifically for the game. Flaming Lips, The Walkmen, Rogue Wave, Ben Kweller, and Cake all contribute.

My personal favorites?

Death Cab’s cover of Earth Angel and Oranger’s cover of Mr. Sandman.

Is it bad that I still like the Back to the Future version of Earth Angel and Death Cab’s more than the original?

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to listen to my transistor radio and then grab a malt at the soda shop.

More deets, as promised

me, andrew, kweiSaturday, March 4, 2006, I’ll be catching my all-time fave band, Jack’s Mannequin, playing alongside The Academy Is…, Panic! at the Disco, and Hellogoodbye at HOB Anaheim. It should be pretty sweet since it’s a relatively small venue. It’s a matinee show (doors open at noon, show at one [I sound like the partyline Concert Calendar]), so I should be out by mid-afternoon easily.

After that, I’m not going to Disneyland, but I do plan on stopping by the Grove for a bit. Maybe checking the Apple store for some of those new MacBook Pros. Or hopefully Kristen Bell will be at Anthropologie again (Please don’t ask why I was in Anthropologie.) Yeah Veronica Mars!
