Last Post about my Bed-in-a-Bag

OK. Thanks to tips from Will and Gina, I washed my sheets one last time — with Downy, Snuggles, and pretty much any other cutesy-named fabric softeners.

You guys have salvaged my almost-horrendous purchase.

THANK YOU!

I can now recommend Bed-in-a-bag again. Just wash it with lots of fabric softener. Repeat if needed.

Sorry I’ve been a little slow on the posting. GRAW has taken over my life.

The lost (two) week(s)

Sadly, my posting as of late has become non-existent. And I’m sure that everyone is curious as to what has been going on over my life the past two weeks. So, over the next few days, I’ll be retro-posting as if the days were just occurring. Confusing? Heck yeah. Just look for “Lost Week” preceding the post title and all will be good in the world.

Regular posting begins anew!

Lost Week: “Baseball’s Best Burger:” Recreated

I read an article on ESPN.com earlier today. The Gateway Grizzlies in Illinois have apparently created “Baseball’s Best Burger.”

The ballpark sandwich will include a hamburger topped with sharp cheddar cheese and two slices of bacon — all between a “bun” made of a sliced Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnut.

Sounds easy enough. Feeling adventurous, I grabbed some Krispy Kreme Original Glazed doughnuts and left the rest to our amazing chefs at Doogle’s. I forgot that the doughnuts are used cut-side out, so the glaze doesn’t get all over your fingers.

Verdict: AMAZING.

Despite the fact that each burger loads 1000 calories and 45 grams of fat into your system, I would gladly eat another. and another. and another.

I made a second batch with the bun properly oriented, cut them up, and served them to our bar customers during happy hour. Everyone loved them and no one had a heart attack. Though I don’t think we’ll be adding it to our menu, maybe we’ll add it to our secret menu.

Here’s a pic of the Doogle Krispy Kreme burger (first batch).

Lost Week: Bruised and Dark Blue

My favorite band? Jack’s Mannequin. I have a video (more like audio with lots of darkness) recording of Dark Blue that I ended up capturing during the concert. I’ll post it when I return home to my land of cables. One of my favorite songs on the album, Bruised, has no music video yet. Lucky for us, another Jack’s Mannequin fan decided to create one.

The video interprets the lyrics quite literally. So if you have problems understanding what he’s singing, just watch the guy. I LOVE THIS VIDEO.

And I’m having major problems embedding it. So I’m going to have to link it.

Here’s the embedded video…
