You know, as the internet has grown, I’ve never really had a problem with people finding me through this domain (myname.com) and all of my other not-so-relevant online entities. I still don’t. But I feel weird putting myself out there and not getting to know YOU. And that’s not what I want… Sooo. Since no one reads this blog anyway, as of yesterday, I’ve moved my personal blog to a more community-oriented site. Don’t fret. I’ll keep posting here as infrequently as always with non-personal content (YouTube videos, most likely.) And I’ll leave my trail of posts, which have been spread out through this site and xanga and livejournal since I was a wee lad. And I’ll still be on myspace and facebook. If you want my new blog address, just ask! Most likely, it’s not you I’m worried about. It’s you!

SlashDot is a great place
to find recent news articles, mostly tech related. But sometimes there is a nugget of goodness that isn’t part of the tech scene and this article was gold. A group in New York called Improv Everywhere, grouped together and were instructed by the event coordinator to come in a Royal Blue polo and tan khakis. The group slowly entered a Best Buy and hilarity ensued. Hit the link for the full story and some pretty funny videos.

It’s that time of year again… Time for Woodstock for capitalists.
On today’s agenda: Borsheim’s shareholder cocktail reception. And then maybe a stop to a DQ for a complimentary ice cream cone.
Yesss.
Pics? If I don’t forget.
New watch? OK, if you insist.

Thanks to everyone’s messages. It makes me happy to think of all of the people that have driven with me on various adventures. I’m glad that when people see a silver ML, it reminds them of me. My cuts are healing nicely and the soreness on my left side is pretty much gone.
“Nothing will make a driver more loyal to its car than a car more loyal to its driver.”
I totally believe that. Despite my thinking that I would get a different car this time, for some reason, I kept coming back to the ML. In the end, it wasn’t as difficult a decision as I imagined.
I’ve temporarily nicknamed her “Phoenix.” Why Phoenix? Because I’m super-cheesy.
A mythical bird that periodically burned itself to death and emerged from the ashes as a new phoenix. According to most stories, the rebirth of the phoenix happened every five hundred years. Only one phoenix lived at a time.
The rebirth of my phoenix took a little under 9 years. The car was delivered this past Wednesday from Caliber Motors in Anaheim (Hills). Had to go with Iridium Silver. The only thing that I changed was the interior color (ash to charcoal). Haven’t been able to get shots of the exterior yet.. I’ll probably get to that on a sunny day (tomorrow). Until then, some gloomy interior shots.

Part I - Getting things done:
In my spare time, I’ve been reading a great book by David Allen titled Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity [amazon.com]. I always enjoy books of this type. The book emphasizes taking the load of your current burdens off of your mind and putting them into a system of trust that you can go back to later, allowing you to focus on the task you want to complete. I’m about halfway through it and highly recommend it to anyone interested in increasing personal organization and efficiency, both professionally and personally.
Part II - Not getting things done:
About the same time I started reading the book (yesterday), I made the mistake of purchasing Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved. David Allen would not approve. I didn’t really see the appeal of the game when I originally tried the demo. However, I’ve heard nothing but good reviews from websites and friends (thanks ‘boogi.) So, what the heck, I spent the $5 (or 400 Marketplace Points) for the game. Now, I’m hooked. Badly hooked. What makes it worse is I’m horrendous at the game, which makes me want to spend more time to get better. Which is NOT making me more productive. Plus, elam and ‘boogi both have higher scores than I do. I’m resigned to the fact that I won’t beat their scores, let alone break 250,000. But that doesn’t mean I won’t keep trying. If this icon
is the furthest left of the five on my gamercard (on my sidebar ->), that means that it was the last thing I was playing.
Anyone want to buy a lightly used copy of Getting Things Done? I’m keeping the 360.

The colors. are. so. pretty.
